Product Description:
SH1602-5240 is a stepping motor. It is part of the Sanmotion F series from Sanyo Denki. Stepping motors move in discrete steps rather than continuously. They provide precise position control and can hold position. Step size of the SH1602-5240 motor is 0.9 degrees. This means the motor shaft moves 0.9 degrees for each input pulse from the stepping driver. DC stepping drives from Sanyo can be used for its control. The motor has a bipolar winding. Its flange size is 60 millimeters (2.36 inch). Length of the motor is 54 millimeters (2.13 inch). The holding torque specified for the motor is 1.28 Nm. Rated current per phase is 2 Amps and the wiring resistance is 1.65 Ohms per phase. Weight of the SH1602-5240 motor is approximately 0.8 kilograms. (1.76 pounds).
For operation Sanyo recommends -10 to 50 degrees Celsius (14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) temperature. The relative humidity for motor operation is 20 to 90% without condensation. The flange has four mounting holes with 4.5 millimeters diameter. Sanyo recommends using AWG 22 lead wire. The motor moves in a clockwise direction (when seen from the output shaft) when excitation current is applied. The motor requires a 24 Volts DC voltage source. As per the torque curve, the output torque is 1 Nm at 0.1 kpulse/s and 0.8 Nm at 1000 kpulse/s. The output torque varies with input pulse rate and operators can refer to the torque curve in the documentation for the exact output torque for different pulse rates. The motor and associated stepping driver are precision devices that must be operated by trained staff. Failure to follow safety recommendations from Sanyo can result in equipment malfunction.
