The SH1422-5241 is a two-phase stepping motor produced by Sanyo Denki for the F SANMOTION Stepping Motors series. In positioning stages, pick-and-place heads, and small indexing tables, this hybrid motor converts pulse trains from a driver into incremental shaft movements, providing open-loop motion control without an encoder. Its 0.9-degree basic step makes it suitable for applications that need finer resolution than the more common 1.8-degree devices while still delivering the holding torque required to keep loads stationary when power is applied.
The electromagnetic circuit supplies a holding torque of 0.34 N·m, which is enough to restrain light tooling or conveyor sections against static friction. Each phase is energized at 2 A/phase, so matching drivers must provide that continuous current to reach rated torque. The coil set has an inductance of 3.6 mH/phase, which affects how quickly current rises as the pulse frequency increases. Copper windings measure 1.05 Ω/phase, resulting in resistive losses that generate heat during low-speed operation.
