Product Description:
The SMS10A016S002 is a special subproduct of Sanyo Denki under the SMS-10 series. It functions mainly as an industrial PC, which can control multiple devices and modules within an automation system. Relative to other automation PCs and devices, industrial PCs such as the SMS10A016S002 are preferable for their low cost and high environmental resistance. Since industrial systems or production lines are typically exposed in volatile environments, industrial PCs are manufactured and designed to withstand even the most extreme working conditions. Like normal computers, industrial PCs under the SMS-10 series incorporate a built-in CPU and memory.
The SMS10A016S002 features an Am5x86-P75 CPU running at 133 MHz. It also employs a main memory of 16 to 32 MB with a 72-pin SIMM socket. The SIMM socket can be used to extend the industrial PC’s volatile memory. To store data, the SMS10A016S002 mainly employs CompactFlash. However, an additional HDD may be used for additional storage. In terms of its peripherals, the SMS10A016S002 can support a mini-DIN 6-pin keyboard. To establish network connectivity, the SMS10A016S002 uses a 10Base-T RJ45 ethernet cable. Aside from the available Ethernet cable, this industrial PC also supports serial communication via RS232, RS422, and RS485 protocols.
In total, the SMS10A016S002 has 4 inputs and 4 outputs that are TTL compatible. Aside from these TTL-compatible ports, the SMS10A016S002 also provides 2 additional insulated inputs and 2 insulated outputs. For the SMS10A016S002 to run properly, a DC supply with a range of 4.75 to 5.25 V must be used. Like most industrial PCs by Sanyo Denki under the SMS-10 series, the SMS10A016S002 can operate at a maximum ambient temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. Wake Industrial offers the SMS10A016S002 alongside an item warranty for up to one year after purchase.
