Product Description:

The PWM3624-5579-7-1 DC Motor is one of the several motors from Pacific Scientific with permanent magnets. The anti-cog magnets help in operating the motor smoothly even at low speeds. These magnets produce efficient, light, and small magnetic fields to make the motor function at a wider speed range than wound field motors. These fields also help in determining the voltage of the polyester impregnated armature. The armature features a core, a commutator, and windings. The polyester impregnation offers assurance of the mechanical and electrical integrity of the device. There is no need for external field current because of the field flux generated by the permanent magnets.

The PWM series motor comes with standard long-sealed bearings. The unit features Class H insulation that allows it to operate continuously for a very long time without getting damaged. It also comprises dynamic braking functionality and high overcurrent capacity without demagnetization. The motor has a durable construction with a fused and rugged commutator. The constant force brush springs feature field-replaceable brushes and have a long life. The current to the armature is generated by producing a mechanical contact with the commutator bars through pressure applied on the switches. The motor features a low-inertia rotor for use in high-performance servo applications.

The permanent magnet motor generates high starting and accelerating torque even at low speeds. The conduit box helps in easy termination with its big wiring compartment. The DC motor is equipped with a factory assigned enclosure. The armature of the permanent magnet motor is kept inside the magnetic field and rotates according to the direction of the force generated. The permanent magnets in this type of motor are generally rare-earth or ferrite magnets. Rare-earth magnets are widely used in size sensitive applications while ferrite magnets are generally a good choice for cost-sensitive applications.
