Product Description:
Pacific Scientific manufactures the SN43HCYY-LNK-NS-01 within its Powersync Synchronous Motors series. The unit is a step-rate AC motor used to drive indexing tables, conveyors, and other equipment that benefits from constant, in-phase rotation with the mains supply. By operating in step with the incoming line frequency, it provides predictable shaft movement in applications where simple fixed-speed motion is preferred over closed-loop control. This makes it suitable for repeatable indexing tasks that do not require onboard position correction.
Mechanical sizing follows the NEMA 42 frame, giving the motor a 4.325-inch square housing that matches large gearboxes and couplings. The nominal electrical input is 120 V AC at 60 Hz, so the motor can synchronize directly with standard North American mains. Under these conditions, the rotor turns at 72 RPM, which suits slow and steady drive applications. The magnetic section uses three stacks to extend the active length and improve torque without making the rotor excessively heavy. A permanent shaft seal helps block lubricant loss and protects the internal bearings from airborne contaminants. The drive end also includes a laminated steel rotor, a single straight-key shaft, standard construction grade, and an MS system connector.
The installation side uses heavy-duty NEMA mounting holes so the frame can be secured firmly to machinery without added brackets. Power is delivered through 3 leads, which keeps the wiring arrangement simple and reduces terminal complexity in the connection area. Because the design includes no feedback, any position verification must be handled by external equipment. Even so, the motor still delivers repeatable indexing through its fixed relationship between line frequency and shaft angle. An insulated lead jacket also helps resist oil spray commonly found in production lines.
