The SN31HRYY-LNK-NS-00 synchronous motor is built by Pacific Scientific within the Powersync Synchronous Motors series. As a constant-speed AC unit, it locks rotor motion to line frequency and is used in indexing tables, conveyors, and similar automation stages that require repeatable low-speed motion. Its single-phase stator connects directly to common control power, and the lead-wire arrangement keeps wiring straightforward while preserving the motor's standard configuration. That operating method makes output speed dependent on the supply frequency rather than on electronic commutation, which is useful where simple fixed-rate motion is preferred.
Electrically, the motor is rated for 120 V AC and is wound for the North American line standard of 60 Hz, so it can run from common utility power without an external transformer or frequency converter. Because the synchronous speed is fixed at 72 RPM, indexing cycles stay time-aligned over long runs and do not drift with normal load changes below pull-out torque. The square body follows the NEMA 34 envelope, which helps it fit machine layouts built around that mounting standard. A laminated rotor reduces eddy-current losses and supports stable pull-in behavior during startup. The motor is supplied without a feedback device, so motion control is handled in open loop.
The housing uses a 3.38 in square frame, and a heavy-duty NEMA flange supports mounting where belt or chain drives may place side load on the shaft. Torque is transferred through a single shaft with a straight key, allowing rigid attachment to sprockets, pulleys, or couplings. Because there is no shaft seal, the motor is best suited to clean, dry locations where dust and fluids are limited. Internally, the stator uses a 3-lead connection, and a series capacitor can be used to set clockwise or counterclockwise rotation as needed. The single-stack construction supports a compact internal layout for steady fixed-speed duty.
