Product Description:

The PMB32D-00116-02 is a sturdy servo device manufactured and released by Pacific Scientific under the illustrious PMB3 product series. Known for its efficiency and high torque-to-weight ratio, this motor requires a nominal supply voltage of 240 VAC to 320 VDC for maximum operation. Like other servomotors engineered by Pacific Scientific under the PMB series, this motor employs an IP40 NEMA frame with AMP flying leads as connectors. This servo machine's integrated digital encoder with commutation allows it to track variations in the rotor position and speed while it is operating. According to the PMB series’ documentation, this digital encoder has a resolution of 4096 ppr.

Unlike other servo motors by Pacific Scientific, the PMB32D-00116-02 employs a PTC thermistor. The PTC thermistor is a small component interfaced along the motor’s winding to prevent overtemperature. Whenever the winding temperature increases, the resistance of the PTC thermistor increases. Past a certain value, the PTC thermistor can effectively halt motor operation by impeding the current flow. Alongside a compatible servo drive, this motor can operate as part of a closed-loop system. At the nameplate voltage, this unit achieves a typical rated speed and torque of 3500 rpm and 2.85 Nm.

At 25 degrees Celsius, the PMB32D-00116-02 can achieve a continuous stall current of 5.2 A. At maximum torque, the RMS current of this motor can increase up to a value of 15.6 A. Whenever this continuous current is drawn, the peak torque delivered by the shaft is around 11.4 Nm, or about 101 lb-in. As starting conditions, this motor can experience high inrush currents to overcome the static friction. At most, the maximum static friction of this motor is around 0.12 Nm.
