Product Description

The  PMB31B-20201-00 is a B Series brushless servomotor from Pacific Scientific. The motor is one of the most cost-effective offerings from the manufacturer. The synchronous unit comprises IP40 style of construction and is enclosed in a NEMA size 34 frame. The motor comprises a shaft with a square key and 18” flying leads with MS type Mate-N-Lock connectors for feedback and electrical connectivity. The device can be connected to compatible SC9x2/SCE9x2, PC3403, and PC8x2 servo drives using a shielded 26 AWG feedback cable and a shielded 18 AWG power cable.

The motor features an ambient operating temperature of 25°C and operates at a maximum bus voltage of 320VDC or 240VDC. The unit has a B type winding with multiple stack length. The brushless motor has a nominal stall current rating of 2.7A. It also incorporates a hall sensor. The black colored motor has a very compact size of 5.28 inches and weighs just 2.5kg. The eight-pole synchronous unit produces the maximum torque possible due to its neodymium-iron-boron magnets.

The servomotor generates a maximum torque of 6.26Nm and has a torque constant of 0.79Nm/A. The motor has 8A current rating at peak torque and a viscous damping coefficient of 0.0124Nm/kRPM. It has a typical rated speed of 2,900RPM. The Pacific Scientific unit also features maximum static friction of 0.09Nm and very low inertia of 0.137kgm2 x 10-3. The device additionally supports continuous stall torque of 2.11Nm, typical torque rating of 1.90Nm, thermal time constant of 28 minutes, a line-to-line inductance of 19.6mH and a line-to-line resistance of 7.6 ohms. The motor can be mounted using either four socket lead or fillister lead cap screws of #6 size. The motor is highly suitable for high volume and light industrial applications related to position and speed control where high torque and acceleration are mandatory.
