Product Description:
The CP-S3-010-902 cable is manufactured by Pacific Scientific and belongs to the Pacific Scientific Cables series. Designed for servo automation, this component carries power from a low-voltage drive to a compatible three-phase motor, allowing coordinated motion without additional wiring assemblies. The product is a power cable intended for installations where the drive is mounted in a control cabinet and the motor is positioned on the machine frame. Its conductors support current delivery between the drive and motor, while the grounding path provides a secure connection to protective earth. This arrangement separates the motor power circuit from feedback and other low-level control wiring.
The cable is supplied in a 10 ft length, which permits the drive to be mounted approximately three meters from the axis without splicing. As a power cable, its insulation and conductor gauge are sized for continuous motor current rather than low-level signal transmission. The assembly contains four conductors: three phase leads and a dedicated equipment ground. This conductor arrangement maintains balanced phase delivery and provides a direct path for fault current along the entire route. Because the associated amplifier belongs to the low-voltage class, the jacket rating and creepage distances are suitable for voltages below 60 V. Support for three-phase operation distributes current across the motor windings and helps limit temperature rise during cyclic operation.
For drive power level 2, the conductor size limits voltage drop between the amplifier and motor. The Interconnectron connector is installed at the motor end and provides keyed engagement that resists vibration on frame size 3 housings. A factory-crimped ring at the opposite end bonds the included ground conductor directly to the drive earth terminal. Pacific Scientific uses a separate feedback cable for encoder signals, keeping position data away from the motor power cores. Separating the feedback wiring from the power conductors reduces electromagnetic coupling and helps preserve position accuracy during rapid motion. The cable can be routed through energy chains or fixed trays while maintaining the required minimum bend radius and avoiding excessive strain at either termination.
