Product Description:
The CEP-A4-015-903 is a power cable assembled by Pacific Scientific for the Pacific Scientific Cables series. It links a brushless servo motor to its matched drive, routing three-phase conductors and protective earth between the motor and SC series amplifiers inside automated machinery. In motion-control assemblies, this cable forms the low-impedance path that transfers the current pulses required for torque production while maintaining electromagnetic compatibility on the plant floor.
With an overall length of 15 ft, the cable spans typical cabinet-to-machine distances without intermediate junctions. Its conductor size supports a continuous phase current of 7.5 A at 25 °C and tolerates momentary surges of up to 15.0 A during acceleration. These limits align with the thermal rating of the matched SC903 inverter, and the three bundled cores suit the system’s three-phase topology. The assembly is CE-compliant, so its insulation and shielding meet applicable European safety and emissions directives. At the drive end, the conductors are arranged on a pitch of 7.5 mm, which preserves the necessary creepage distance when they are inserted into the terminal strip. A low-impedance drain wire runs along the cable to minimize common-mode noise from high-frequency pulse-width-modulated outputs.
The SC903 interface assigns the cable to drive power level 3, indicating compatibility with the controller’s midrange torque class. Termination inside the cabinet is achieved through a pluggable terminal block, allowing the cable to be disconnected without removing individual conductors. The motor side uses a keyed Interconnectron connector that locks securely against vibration. Six numbered contacts at the motor plug carry the three phases, protective ground, and signal shield. The dielectric structure and conductor gauge place the assembly in the low-voltage category, making standard 600 V insulation practices suitable for installation. The keyed connector orientation also helps prevent incorrect alignment when the cable is attached to the motor.
