The 2VM61-000-1 is a low-inertia permanent-magnet DC servomotor produced by Pacific Scientific and placed within the Low Inertia PMDC Servomotors series. The motor is intended for use in industrial automation axes that call for rapid acceleration with modest continuous load, such as indexing tables or small pick-and-place actuators. Its light rotor allows control loops to command quick velocity changes while the permanent-magnet field supplies stable torque without external excitation.
At its nominal operating point, the motor delivers 25 oz-in of rated torque when a 24 V supply is applied to the armature. For applications that need extra margin during start-up, the design permits a 46 A pulse current, and the windings present only 100 µH of inductance, so current rises quickly when the drive issues a step command. Maximum sustained load is limited by the 31 oz-in continuous stall torque, a value set by the thermal capacity of the winding and housing. Beyond these current-related figures, the torque constant is 5.8 oz-in/A, which allows direct torque estimation from commanded current. Thermal resistance of 2.13 °C/W must be considered when sizing heat sinks or airflow to keep the winding temperature within rating.
