Pacific Scientific manufactures the K42HRHM-LNK-NS-00 as part of its K PowerPac Motors series. This NEMA 42 stepper motor uses enhanced SIGMAX construction to increase flux density within a 4.325 in. square frame while keeping the overall length to 150 mm. Heavy-duty NEMA mounting holes in the laminated housing allow the unit to be bolted directly to rigid mounting plates. Power is supplied through a standard lead-wire connection that uses a four-lead parallel configuration, while the lack of feedback makes the motor suitable for open-loop motion tasks such as index tables and gantry axes.
The motor develops a holding torque of 28.2 Nm when both phases receive the rated current of 9.90 A. Copper losses are governed by a phase resistance of 0.260 ohms, while the windings have a phase inductance of 4.20 mH. A step angle of 1.8° combines with a step accuracy of ±1.5% to provide predictable incremental movement during positioning routines. The rotor has an inertia of 0.155 oz-in-s², balancing acceleration capability with resistance to overshoot. Insulation resistance is rated at 100 megohms when tested at 340 VDC, helping isolate the drive electronics from the stator core during high-energy operating cycles.
