Product Description:
The K31HRLL-LNK-NS-00 stepper motor is built by Pacific Scientific and belongs to the K PowerPac Motors series. It serves as a direct-drive actuator in automated assemblies, translating pulse commands from a driver into controlled incremental shaft movement without internal feedback. Its repeatable positioning and compact package suit small conveyors, dispensing stations, and indexing fixtures where closed-loop servo feedback is unnecessary. The motor can execute controlled starts, stops, and incremental moves when paired with a compatible stepper drive. Its open-loop operation also reduces the number of signal connections required between the motor and controller.
A 3.38-inch square frame and NEMA 34 mounting pattern allow the motor to fit established size-34 mounting arrangements, while the heavy-duty flange supports radial loading. Each electrical pulse advances the rotor by 1.8°, and cumulative positioning error remains within ±1.5% of a full step. The laminated rotor, single shaft with a straight key, and SIGMAX-enhanced construction increase stiffness and allow the motor to deliver up to 5.9 Nm of holding torque at standstill. A single-stack magnetic circuit and standard windings provide the electromagnetic arrangement for this model. The four-lead series connection is accessed through regular lead wires, simplifying connection to compatible bipolar drives. The motor does not include a shaft seal, so suitable external protection is necessary in areas exposed to fluids or dust.
Insulation resistance is rated at 100 megohms, helping limit leakage current between the windings and motor housing. The winding system withstands up to 340 VDC without insulation breakdown, supporting industrial stepper drives that use elevated bus voltages for dynamic response. The motor has an overall body length of 94 mm, which helps reduce installation depth when it is mounted on a linear stage or compact machine frame. Continuous operation is permitted from -20 °C to +40 °C; operation beyond this temperature range may require derating or forced cooling. SIGMAX flux shaping improves magnetic utilization, while the lack of an internal feedback device keeps the control arrangement open loop. If position verification is required, the machine controller must obtain it from a separate sensing device.
