Product Description:
Pacific Scientific manufactures the K31HLHJ-LNK-NS-00 as part of its K PowerPac Motors series. This unit is a stepper motor intended for incremental motion control in industrial automation, where command pulses are translated into fixed angular steps to index tooling or convey parts without an external feedback device. A single straight-key shaft transmits torque directly to couplings, and because the design is supplied without a shaft seal, it should be used away from pressurized washdown.
The motor sits in a NEMA 34 housing that measures 3.38-inch square across the frame and is 94 mm long, giving the machine a compact footprint for moderate-power axes. Within that envelope, a laminated rotor and Pacific Scientific’s SIGMAX enhanced construction raise flux density so the shaft can deliver 5.9 Nm of static holding torque. Each full step covers 1.8°, and the winding is the standard type terminated to a 4 lead parallel set for low phase resistance. Heavy-duty NEMA face mounting aligns the motor to gearboxes or adapter plates, while a single-stack magnetic circuit minimizes inertia for quicker indexing. Rated performance remains available across the -20 °C to +40 °C ambient range without additional cooling.
Electrical integrity is supported by an insulation resistance of 100 Megohms and a dielectric strength up to 340 Vdc, which isolate the windings from the iron core under normal plant voltages. Power enters through a splash-proof conduit fitting machined for a 1/2 in. NPSC pipe thread, routing to an internal terminal board so moisture cannot reach the connections. The motor is delivered with the no-feedback option, making open-loop control sufficient when the inherent step accuracy of ±1.5 % meets application tolerances. This layout keeps the connection area enclosed without adding sensors or other auxiliary hardware.
