Product Description:
The 5630-026 is manufactured by Pacific Scientific as a part of their 5630 stepper motor drive series. This unit can be combined with your two-phase step motors. The unit helps to convert direction and step input into motor winding currents. These motor winding currents, in turn, control the step motors that have two-phase bipolar stepping. You can control the output current and anywhere between 5 and 8 amps. The factory default setting for the amps/phase RMS is 5 and the unit has a peak capability of 11.3 amps.
The 5630-026 is intuitively made with mid-range instability control which helps to reduce the amount of torque that is lost. This feature also helps to prevent stalling of the motor when it is operating at mid-range speeds. The stepping motor system is characteristic of some amount of instability from the mechanical, magnetic and electronic components of the system. With enabled functions, the advancing and delaying of mid-range oscillations can be monitored.
The Pacific Scientific 5630-026 features a bipolar chopper drive which controls the current of the motor up to 20 kHz. The unit features power supplies internally that operate from a 115-volt ac input. In the main motor supply, you will find a full-wave bridge rectifier. The unit has inrush current limiting as well as shunt regulator circuitry which protects the drive by getting rid of any excess energy that goes beyond 200 volts. Certain motor conditions can cause the generation of excess energy and this attribute helps to protect the motor from that.
There is also short circuit protection which helps to keep the unit running. The 5630-026 will shut off if it needs to. This feature helps to keep the unit reliable and to keep your entire operation safe.
