The VAC5-D11 spindle drive is produced by Okuma and belongs to the VAC Spindle Drives series. This unit is used inside CNC machining centers to convert three-phase mains power into controlled variable-frequency output for the machine’s spindle motor, allowing precise speed regulation during cutting and drilling operations. By handling both power switching and drive protection, the module sits between the plant supply and the high-speed spindle, giving the automation controller real-time authority over torque and acceleration profiles.

Electrically, the drive is rated for a continuous output of 11 kW, aligning it with medium-power spindle motors found in production lathes and mills. Incoming three-phase mains are connected to terminals marked R, S, T, and protective coordination is maintained by an internal fuse limited to 5.0 A.
