Product Description:

The Okuma VAC D8-B is a well-known spindle drive designed to make it easy to control the spindle motor in CNC machines. The spindle drive is compatible with an AC170V-AC250V, 50/60Hz power supply range, so this is among those power settings that can be used in many industries. It has six power transistors and a primary power diode module (PT768) of 75A and 800V, which contributes to improved power management by regulating current and voltage. The modules used are either the EVM31-050A or the QM150DX-H transistor. They are rated for 150A at either 600V or 450V, offering flexibility in application.

VAC D8-B has the control system containing a VAC-BOARD-II PCB that executes the operation of the drive. It has a 50-pin CN1 control signals connector and a 16-pin motor signals connector. The main parts of this control PCB are a circuit regenerator, a transformer, LEDs and DIP switches. The regeneration circuit recovers excess energy by redirecting it back into the system, reducing power loss during braking. The transformer controls the voltage conversion of various components of the board. LEDs provide visual indicators of system status and fault conditions, while DIP switches allow manual configuration of control settings based on the specific operation being performed. This leads to simplified and precise machining operations, giving the operator accurate control and a better chance to achieve consistency, essential in high-quality and detail-oriented manufacturing operations.

The VAC D8-B also offers flexible adjustment options in the form of potentiometers or the Speed Meter (SM) and Load Meter (LM) for reliable performance. The knobs enable the technicians to increase or reduce the spindle speed and adjust load levels as needed, and deliver precise control during machining operations.
