Product Description:

The OSP5020L is a combined CNC monitor and control unit built by Okuma for the OSP CNC Monitors series. Installed on turning centers and mills, it provides the operator display, keyboard panel, and control logic needed to run axes, manage tool changes, and exchange data with peripheral equipment. This arrangement lets one enclosure handle machine interaction and control tasks.

The controller operates from a single-phase 220 VAC supply. Its logic is based on a 15 MHz Motorola 68000 CPU, a well-known processor for deterministic control and interface handling. Programs and diagnostics appear on a 12 in CRT with eight keys below the screen for direct soft-key selection. Base volatile storage is provided by an MC11 board with 512 Kbytes of memory, and up to three MC11 or MC12 cards can be added for expansion.

For nonvolatile retention, the frame accepts two bubble-memory cards with a maximum capacity of 32 Mbits, so part programs remain stored when power is removed. A separate MC12 board adds 2 Mbytes of high-speed DRAM for active code and buffer space. Up to 4 RS-232C channels support DNC links, and RS-422 communication is available for longer cable runs. The TCC-A interface card also provides two resolver inputs, two solenoid outputs, and two dry-contact inputs for direct connection to orientation sensors and clamp valves.

Wake Industrial stocks this model and can arrange same-day shipping. Quotations remain valid for 30 days. The chat tool available on the website answers general questions about fault codes, type codes, and specifications.
