Product Description:
The OSP-U100M is a numerical-control monitor developed by Okuma for the OSP CNC Monitors series. It serves as the operator interface, displaying coordinate positions, alarm codes, and machining parameters generated by an OSP controller. This information allows machine operators to confirm real-time operating conditions without opening the electrical cabinet. By integrating a display, keypad connections, and serial communication links into one assembly, the unit keeps wiring to the main CNC compact and provides centralized access to essential machine information.
The monitor operates from a factory mains supply of 200 V AC and tolerates voltage variations of up to ±10%. Its power supply operates at either 50/60 Hz, eliminating the need for frequency-specific models in different regions. The monitor provides four serial ports (CN0–CN3) for RS-232 connections used with program-transfer devices, diagnostic equipment, or barcode readers. Communication speed can be increased to 19200 bps, supporting faster part-program uploads than the 600-bps startup rate. The ready-wait timer can be set as high as 9,999 seconds, allowing lengthy transfers to continue without triggering communication timeouts. These communication options support data exchange between the monitor, the primary controller, and compatible peripheral devices used with the machine.
The unit can operate at ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 40 °C. Operation outside this range may affect picture geometry or reduce backlight service life. Relative humidity can reach 95% RH as long as condensation does not form inside the housing. Accuracy testing is referenced to a narrower temperature range of 17 °C to 25 °C and a relative humidity range of 40% to 75%. The installation altitude is limited to 1000 m above sea level so that the available cooling airflow can maintain acceptable internal component temperatures. The monitor should be installed where ventilation remains unobstructed and moisture cannot collect around its electrical connections.
