Product Description:
The OSP-P300M is a CNC human-machine interface monitor produced by Okuma and supplied within the OSP CNC Monitors series. As an operator panel, it combines display, data entry, and storage resources needed to run lathes, machining centers, and other automated equipment from the company’s OSP control platform. Industrial users employ the unit to visualize axis positions, load programs, and interact with diagnostic menus, allowing coordinated machine motion and process oversight.
On the front end, the unit provides a 15-in color LCD with a touch panel, so tool offsets, alarms, and G-code lines can be selected directly without external keys. Linear axis readout is generated at 0.001 mm, while rotary axes track motion down to 0.001°. These resolutions match common finishing and contouring requirements. Program memory of 4 GB allows large multipart routines or high-density probing cycles to be stored inside the panel, and up to 999 registered tools can be indexed for length and diameter corrections across multiple setups.
Complementing the main storage, the controller holds an operation backup of 2 MB that safeguards parameters and macro variables during power cycles. It supports 100 work coordinate sets in addition to a single machine coordinate base, giving flexibility for fixture libraries. Data exchange is handled through 2 USB ports and one RS-232-C channel, so legacy DNC links and modern flash drives can be used side by side. Position capture relies on Full-Range Absolute feedback, eliminating the need for a zero-return cycle at start-up. Numeric entry follows an 8-digit decimal format, and each cutter can store three compensation tables to track wear. By combining these capacities, the OSP-P300M supports efficient tool management and rapid job changeovers without repeating manual homing or data transfer steps.
