The OSP-P200 is a computer numerical control monitor engineered by Okuma for the OSP CNC Monitors series. Acting as the main human-machine interface on machining centers and lathes, the unit combines visualization, program input, and system diagnostics in a single enclosure. Within an automation cell, it provides real-time status data, allows code editing, and coordinates with the machine controller so machine operation can be supervised from a centralized touch panel.
It runs on an Intel Pentium M processor, giving the controller x86 instruction compatibility and low-power thermal behavior suited for cabinet mounting. Visual output appears on the 15 in panel at 1024 × 768 pixels, a resolution that presents full-page part programs without scrolling. The surface is a LCD Touchscreen, so soft keys and graphical buttons replace membrane switches. Primary volatile storage is DRAM, which offers fast refresh cycles for large cutting files, while error-correcting logic provided by ECC protects data bits from electrical noise. Mass data such as tool libraries are archived on a flash card paired with a hard disk, and two USB ports support file transfer from external media.
The monitor uses a PC-Base CNC architecture, so the operating system and motion kernel share common bus resources with the industrial PC. Numerical calculations are accelerated to 3x Conventional, enabling finer block processing when contouring at high feed rates.
