The OSP-700M is a computerized numerical control monitor produced by Okuma within the OSP CNC Monitors series. Serving as the operator interface for machining centers, it combines screen, data storage, and processing resources so the machine tool can execute, visualize, and edit part programs in real time. In an automated cell the unit supplies the human-machine link, displays coordinate data, alarms, and tool paths, and handles background tasks such as file transfers and device diagnostics.
Its power section accepts a primary line of 200 V, and the design tolerates voltage swings of ±10%, preventing shutdowns on networks with variable loads. Compatibility with 50/60 Hz supplies lets the monitor be deployed worldwide without transformer adaptation. The unit uses 7 main CPUs to handle display generation, motion calculations, and input parsing, which helps maintain cycle times even when conversational editing is active. Up to 4 RS-232C channels are available for peripherals, so separate lines can connect a PC, a barcode reader, and a DNC network at the same time. On-screen data are organized in a 64 × 24 chars grid, and each editable line is limited to 63 characters, allowing operators to review entire blocks without scrolling.
