The OSP-700B monitor is produced by Okuma for the OSP CNC Monitors series. Designed as the primary operator interface on OSP-controlled machine tools, it combines display functions, program media handling, and serial communication in a single panel. The unit shows NC status and part programs, accepts external tape input, and links to host computers, making it a central element for program loading, editing, and real-time machining feedback in industrial automation environments.
The panel houses a photoelectric tape reader with a capacity of 1840 M for 2DD cassettes and 3770 M for 2HD media, allowing large NC programs to be read from punched tape. A built-in 3.5-inch floppy drive adds removable storage for smaller files. Data is displayed on a monochrome STN LCD that maintains readability under shop lighting while keeping power draw low. Four independent serial ports support DNC and peripheral links, and the control has 4 RS-232C channels that can be assigned to tooling presetters, bar feeders, or PCs. All functions are arranged on a vertical panel so the monitor can mount directly inside the machine enclosure without depth interference.

Thirteen spindle override steps are available for fine speed adjustment during prove-out, allowing repeatable spindle changes during operation.
