Product Description:
The ID15638 is an E7 series mountable rack constructed by Okuma. It is a control chassis that functions to support the installation of I/O modules and accommodates EC boards as well as interface boards together with a D/R control unit. The ID15 E7 rack works exclusively for machines running OSP5000 and OSP7000 systems.
The ID15638 E7 mounting rack incorporates chromate-treated steel frame and has mounting flanges which allow installation in cabinets. There exist nine available backplane slots labeled as D/R together with E11, E12, E13 and E01 through E05. All backplane slots contain 96-pin DIN connectors for connection while its blue card rails are to insert boards when performing maintenance. The ID15 E7 rack’s communication to CPU passes through the D/R slot by means of ribbon and fiber cables. Its EC digital I/O boards occupy the backplane slots starting from E01 to E05. The acceptable electrical power supply is single-phase 200-240 VAC with global compatibility of both 50 and 60 Hz frequency. Its PSU converts input to +5V, ±12V and 24VDC for control modules. The ID15 E7 rack has a built-in EMI filter to block electrical noise from power lines. The status of output voltages is displayed using diagnosis LEDs that are integrated into the system.
The ID15638 E7 mounting rack utilizes a high-density circular I/O plug for connecting to other devices from its front panel. Its power supply unit gets the AC power through a circular 3-pin connector. The ID15 E7 rack gives cables accessible through the front panel opening and there is an installed fan near the MAC grill for cooling down the system while the airstream passes through vented panels to cross the board area.
Frequently Asked Questions about ID15638:
Q: How does the ID15638 E7 rack manage power efficiency?
A: The ID15638 E7 rack's PSU efficiently converts AC input (200-240VAC) to three different DC voltages (+5V, ±12V, 24VDC), optimizing power delivery to connected modules while minimizing energy waste.
Q: Why is a high-density I/O connector used in the ID15638 E7 rack?
A: The high-density I/O connector enables compact, secure, and high-speed communication between various connected devices. It maximizes the rack’s space while maintaining robust signal integrity for high-demand industrial applications.
Q: What thermal management features are included in the ID15638 E7 rack?
A: The ID15638 E7 features a built-in fan and strategically placed vented panels for effective heat dissipation. This cooling system ensures that components remain within safe operating temperatures under heavy loads, enhancing system stability.
Q: How does the ID15638 E7 reduce electrical noise within the system?
A: The ID15638 E7 rack integrates an EMI filter that suppresses high-frequency electrical noise from power lines, preventing signal distortion and ensuring optimal performance of sensitive electronic components.
Q: an the ID15638 E7 support expansion of I/O modules beyond the initial setup?
A: Yes, the ID15638 E7 rack allows for easy expansion with its nine backplane slots, providing the flexibility to add or replace I/O modules, thus increasing system functionality as needed.
