The E4809-770-149-A board is manufactured by Okuma for the E4809 CNC Boards series. Classified as a power interface module, it sits inside the axis drive section of an Okuma CNC system and manages regenerated energy from the servo amplifiers. By regulating returned power, the board protects the bus capacitors and supports controlled machine deceleration without dissipating the energy through external braking resistors.
The board’s primary circuit function is power regeneration control, and its switching network routes surplus kinetic energy into a shared bus maintained at 300 VDC. A separate logic rail supplies 24 VDC to downstream enable lines and interlock sensors. Protection against line surges is provided by an input overvoltage threshold of 253 Vrms. When the input reaches this threshold, the board disconnects the mains relay to reduce component stress. Field wiring terminates on a terminal strip designed for M4 screws. A two-minute power-off wait period is required before service work begins so the capacitors have time to discharge. The identification switches form a five-bit array that allows the board address to be assigned without software tools.
The model is supplied as one board and connects directly to inverter stacks marked MPS20/MPS30/MPS45/MPS60. Board addressing is configured at the factory with all switches off, while the five-position selector bank remains accessible for applications that require a different address. This selector arrangement matches the address map used by Okuma’s PM bus. Operating states, error codes, and test prompts appear on a front-panel 7-segment LED. The display provides visible status information while the board is operating and helps confirm that the system has entered the expected state.
