The E4809-770-141-B is a control and feedback board manufactured by Okuma for the E4809 CNC Boards series. Installed in a dedicated rack slot, the board converts real-time encoder data into position counts and returns torque and speed signals to the numerical controller. Local processing of these closed-loop tasks reduces the workload on the main CPU and maintains deterministic positioning in automated machine tools.
The card governs exactly 1 controlled axis, making it suitable for compact lathes or auxiliary slides that require single-channel motion. Operating status is shown on a 7-segment LED module mounted on the left side of the board, and two display modes provide code and alarm readouts. Encoder signals arrive through the JAE D02-M15SAG-13L9 connector, where a regulated +12 V source powers incremental sensors. Logic signals connect to the backplane through the Molex 53460-0611 header, while incoming AC power is routed through the AMP 1-179276-2 plug to separate higher-energy conductors from the control electronics. The built-in speed monitor provides an output scaled at 1562 rpm/V, allowing analog instruments to measure commanded velocity through dedicated test points.
The board connects to the shared DC link through the AMP 1-178137-2 power-bus connector, supporting common-bus inverter configurations. It is compatible with BL/PREX servo motors, with commutation patterns and current limits suited to that motor family. During operation, the analog speed monitor operates within a range of ±3 V, covering the available span associated with the speed monitor scale. Torque feedback is provided on a separate line with a full-scale output of 3 V, while the torque monitor uses a bipolar voltage range to represent load direction and magnitude. Separate monitoring lines allow speed and torque signals to be observed without combining the two measurements, and the dedicated connectors keep feedback, logic, and power paths organized across the board.
