The E4809-045-234-A Ether Board is an industrial grade interface and control board designed for Okuma automation systems. It facilitates machine I/O, motion control and high speed communication within rack based CNC controller architectures using Ethernet and serial protocols.
The E4809-045-234-A ether board uses Okuma’s proprietary OCL568 FTCP ASIC supported by a custom 16/32 bit microcontroller or DSP for executing machine I/O, control logic and motion computation tasks. Timing sensitive components are synchronized using a 32 MHz XTAL2 oscillator. Logic ICs (74-series chips) are implemented for bus buffering, logic signal routing and memory address decoding. Communication interfaces include an XB-LAN port via RJ45 Ethernet connector for high speed networking. A D Sub connector allows serial communication using RS232 or RS422 protocols. This ether board features two 96 pin DIN type edge connectors for connecting to the system backplane in a rack mounted controller. These ensure fast and secure system bus communication between modules.
The E4809-045-234-A ether board features a Eurocard style multi layer PCB with approximate dimensions of 36.5 cm by 17.5 cm. It includes mounting brackets on both ends for secure rack insertion.
