Okuma’s E4809-045-201 belongs to the E4809 CNC Boards series and is supplied as a Memory Board-B for OSP numerical controllers. Installed in the control rack, the board retains system parameters, part programs, and machine status data so that the CNC can resume its last known state after power cycles or maintenance. This function supports stable startup behavior and preserves stored operating information when main power is removed.

The card mounts to the backplane with 2 edge connectors that route power and bus signals directly to the CPU section. It carries a surface-mounted flash array composed of an AM29F040 device, giving nonvolatile storage of 4 Mbit (512K × 8) for firmware updates and ladder revisions. Long-term fixed code is handled by a mask ROM group anchored by the TC531001BCL-85L component, which provides an additional 1 Mbit (128K × 8) so that boot routines and self-diagnostics remain unchanged through normal machine use.
