The E4809-045-158-B is a servo processor board released by Okuma within the E4809 CNC Boards series. Installed in an Okuma CNC rack, the board coordinates current-loop calculations for connected servo axes and transfers position data to the matched amplifier group. By executing these real-time tasks, the module links the numerical control kernel to the brushless BL-II drive amplifiers that move each machine slide.
The onboard CPU operates at 16 MHz, providing adequate instruction bandwidth for interpolation and error compensation routines. Memory access uses a 3/3-clock read/write cycle, so parameter retrieval and update times remain consistent even when axis loads fluctuate. The node address on the backplane is set with an SW1 4-bit address DIP switch, allowing up to sixteen SVP modules to coexist without line conflicts. Command and feedback signals flow through an interface for BL-IID amplifiers that carries pulse-width duty data for torque commands and returns velocity information for closed-loop regulation. Field wiring enters through four front connectors, separating encoder, power, and control conductors to reduce crosstalk during rapid motion.
The board functions as a servo processor, so its processing role focuses on servo regulation rather than spindle or I/O control. It can coordinate up to 3 axes, making it suitable for the motion requirements of compact turning centers or small machining cells. The module has no AD/DA function and therefore relies on digital links for motion commands, eliminating the signal drift that can occur in analog stages.
