The E4809-045-112-C is a Turret Control Card supplied by Okuma within the E4809 CNC Boards series. The module is installed in the electrical cabinet of an Okuma turning center and governs the rotary indexing of the tool turret in coordination with the machine’s numerical control. By issuing position, clamp, and unclamp signals, it aligns the selected tool position at production speed and supports uninterrupted chip-to-chip transitions during automated machining cycles.
As a Turret Control Card, the board also serves as the turret axis Main Control Card, so timing and interlock commands originate on this board rather than on auxiliary modules. The hydraulic drive chain is commanded directly by the card’s Hydraulic output logic, allowing oil pressure to accelerate and decelerate the turret drum without delay. For position verification, the card uses two resolver interfaces to detect angular movement during High-Speed Turret Indexing, while a pair of contact interfaces confirms the clamp condition after the selected station is reached. Communication with upstream CNC processors takes place over a dedicated Local Bus, and two solenoid outputs energize the unclamp and clamp valves.
