Product Description:

The E4809-045-109-E is a motion-control interface board manufactured by Okuma for the E4809 CNC Boards series. Installed inside OSP-based machining centers, the card translates position and speed references from the main CPU into analog drive signals and returns real-time feedback for closed-loop regulation. By bridging digital command data with the servo amplifiers, it coordinates axis movement and spindle positioning tasks needed for automated cutting, drilling, and turning operations on the factory floor.

As an SVP-IID model, the board incorporates dedicated signal processors and timing circuits to execute velocity and position loops autonomously. Its analog-to-digital converter accepts an input span of 0 to 10 V, allowing the controller to read external reference voltages without additional scaling. The digital-to-analog stage supplies a swing of ±10 V, which drives the servo amplifier with symmetrical polarity for bidirectional motion. The hardware supports simultaneous control of 2 axes, and all motion instructions remain synchronized through a clock link derived from the SPC4 timing source. This arrangement lets the card issue smooth velocity commands, capture encoder feedback, and keep multiple mechanical loads in phase.

A 1 pair DA/AD channel set handles both command and feedback paths, and the circuitry is matched to Okuma’s brushless servo motors for low-noise operation. Six discrete sensor lines, identified as 6 inputs, are reserved for the touch setter probe so tool length checks can occur without rewiring. A single pulse generator and a pulse handle port provide manual jog capability, while spindle speed and position pulses are routed through the card’s encoder interface. For expansion, SPC1 slots support 1 axis/card for up to three cards, and an SPC5 card is already mounted to complete the spindle channel.
