Within a machining center's numerical control rack, the board processes display and operator feedback data so the control can present status information and alarms on a cathode-ray terminal and forward keystroke commands back to the CPU. The board is classified as a CRT Processor Board, meaning its onboard logic converts numerical control data into raster signals that the monitor can interpret without external graphics cards. It supports three character modes—half, normal, and enlarged—so the control can optimize text density or legibility according to the operating context. Video is routed to a CRT monitor rather than flat-panel hardware, matching legacy Okuma operator stations.
