Product Description:
Okuma's E4809-045-073 OPUS 5000 DATA BOARD2 is a reliable control board designed to facilitate data transfer and serial connection in CNC systems. It is set up to work with communication protocols that are necessary in settings with precision control.
The M5L8251AP-5 USART is used by the E4809-045-073 data board2 for both asynchronous and synchronous serial connection. The RS232C ports CN002 and CN003 make it possible to send and receive data reliably with other devices. CN001 is set aside for the floppy disk link, which lets you read and write to storage devices. The HD74LS74AP D-type flip-flop on the board controls time and latches data, which is needed for stable communication. When you combine the HD74LS244 and HD74LS245 integrated circuits, you get line driving and buffering that keeps the signal integrity across multiple transmission lines. Controlling the Clear To Send signal, which sets up serial data transfer, is done with CTS logic. The USART chip is set up to match baud rates and choose which words to send. Direct signal flow from the board controls access to the floppy drive and makes sure that data transfers happen quickly. The DATA BOARD2 is designed to work in industrial control systems that need to connect devices and do serial I/O reliably.
A multi-layer PCB layout helps keep data paths clean and lowers interference. There are time control lines on the E4809-045-073 data board2 that are separate from the data buses so that signals don't mix. Gold plating on PCB edge connections makes signal contact better and makes them last longer. For controlling which device to use, address decoding software is built in. The HD74LS138 3-to-8 line encoder is used to separate control signals.
