The E4809-045-035-C OPUS 5000 is the main board that is used for controlling the speed and position in industrial motion control platforms. The system is used with different types of industrial automation platforms including CNC lathe machines and CNC machining centers. The main control board is also used with the OSP 5000 series family of advanced automation platforms. The main control board is an integral part of the OSP 5000/5020. The system consists of a main processor and data interfaces for data communication. There is a high performance Motorolla 68000 microprocessor that is powered with a clock frequency of 15 Mhz. The main control board is designed to control the IC memory, interface circuits, slave processor, and a bubble memory. A motherboard or back pane and ribbon cables are provided for system expansion purposes.
The E4809-045-035-C OPUS 5000 is typically installed in the 5000 series controls. These controls have graphics ability and a color display. The bubble memory provided in this model has the ability to store control software, part programs, and machine software. The bubble memory is stored in the bubble card that comes in the capacities of Mbits, 8 Mbits, 12 Mbits, and 16 Mbits. The OSP 5000 system with the help of the mainboard is able to improve the feed cutting rate of the machine significantly. With its integrated graphics function, the OSP 5000 is a user-friendly platform that is easy to control and operate. A machine operation panel, an NC operation panel, and a pendant operation panel are also provided with the system.
