The E4809-032-452-D Input/Output EC board is manufactured by Okuma as a member of the E4809 CNC Boards series. This printed-circuit assembly occupies one slot in an Okuma control cabinet and serves as the electrical bridge between field devices and the numerical control backplane. Within an automation cell, it collects dry-contact information from machine sensors and energizes peripheral circuits, letting the lathe or grinder control program respond to real-world positions and issue on and off commands without additional interface modules.
The board accepts 72 inputs, so a single card can monitor all standard limit and interlock points on a midsize machine. Each channel is mapped to an address range of E0 to E5, allowing the CNC kernel to poll status through deterministic memory locations. Output capability extends to 40 outputs, and each sinking terminal can switch enough current for pilot devices that meet Okuma’s low-power requirement.
