The Okuma E0227-702-004 bubble memory card is essentially a memory card featuring bubble memory. Bubble memory is a non-volatile form of computer memory. The memory card incorporates a thin magnetic film that is capable of accommodating tiny magnetic materials known as bubbles. The card has a data transfer rate of 2Mb. The product is utilized in the OPUS 5000 power supply by the same manufacturer. The device operates very much like that of a delay line memory system with very few differences. The unit depicts a memory density similar to that of a hard drive. However, unlike the hard drive, the card has no moving parts.
This memory card weighs 0.37kg. The card has several orthogonal coils inside it. The product has these coils under the surface of its magnetic plate. The device also encompasses a user system that encompasses multiple components such as a controller, diode arrays, a function driver, coil drivers, a function timing generator and a sense amplifier. The orthogonal coils of the unit are connected to the user system and bubble chips that are integrated with a CGG non-magnetic substrate, an epitaxial magnetic film, a bubble domain and chevron propagation elements.
