Product Description:
The BLII-D50-30A is a dual-axis servo amplifier manufactured by Okuma for the BL Servo Motors series. Within an automation cell, it converts incoming three-phase power into controlled currents for two motor channels, letting the machine controller command precise velocity, position, and torque. The unit separates its power and control sections so that high motor currents are handled on a dedicated bus while low-level logic remains stable. This design makes the amplifier suitable for heavy cutting or rapid traverse motions that demand fast response and repeatable accuracy.
The power stage for the first axis can deliver a maximum of 50 A, while the second axis is limited to 30 A. Under steady load, the channels sustain continuous currents of 13 A RMS and 8 A RMS respectively, which helps keep semiconductor temperature within design limits. For brief overloads, the drive supplies peaks of 42 A(p) on the first axis and 25 A(p) on the second, providing headroom for cutting force fluctuations. Mains power is connected through a three-phase input, and a separate single-phase feed energizes the control section. The unit operates on either 50 Hz or 60 Hz networks and draws up to 160 mA of excitation current for its internal circuits.
The control section features a dedicated brake driver rated at 5 A/30 VDC for engaging axis holding brakes without external relays. Loop bandwidth is assisted by a minimum frequency characteristic of 1200 Hz, allowing rapid position correction. Diagnostic signals are provided through a speed monitor that outputs ±10 V/±3750 rpm and a separate 10 V proportional torque monitor, giving the CNC real-time feedback on motion and load. Field wiring is secured with M4 terminal screws, and the rack-mount enclosure measures 482 mm wide, 160 mm high, and 202 mm deep.
