Product Description:
The BL-MC50J-20TB servo motor is produced by Okuma within the BL Servo Motors series. As a compact permanent-magnet drive, it supplies closed-loop torque and velocity to machine-tool axes, pick-and-place arms, and other motion modules in industrial automation. It integrates with Okuma amplifiers through a dedicated feedback channel, allowing tight position regulation and rapid reversal where production accuracy is critical.
The motor delivers its rated mechanical output of 1 kW at a shaft speed of 2000 rpm. This performance requires an armature current of 4.5 A drawn from a DC link that the inverter maintains at 133 V. The stator uses a symmetrical three-phase supply, reducing torque ripple and spreading copper losses evenly across the windings. The permanent magnetic field removes the need for external excitation, which improves operating efficiency. Its continuous-duty rating helps stabilize the winding temperature during lengthy production runs without forced cooling. Position data come from the ER-JC-7200D incremental encoder, whose 7,200-pulse resolution supports tight velocity loops and smooth acceleration profiles.
At standstill, the rotor can sustain a holding load with a stall torque of 5.4 N·m without exceeding its thermal limit. The magnetic circuit uses an eight-pole arrangement that increases torque per ampere and improves low-speed resolution when used with the encoder. The terminals are factory-wired in a star pattern with winding code Y, simplifying connection to compatible Okuma amplifiers. The motor complies with IEC 34, which covers relevant performance and construction requirements for rotating electrical machinery. Its frame, insulation system, and mounting interfaces are suitable for integration into industrial motion equipment where repeatable operation and compact installation are required.
