The BL-MC190J-20T is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Okuma for the BL Servo Motors series. Intended for CNC axes and other closed motion loops, the motor converts drive current from a matched MIV amplifier into calibrated torque while its encoder reports shaft position to the control system. In automated machine tools, it provides the closed-loop speed and positioning required for contouring, coordinated feed rates, and precise tool changes. The motor also integrates with Okuma OSP controls through the feedback protocol used by this servo motor series.
Its continuous power rating is 4 kW, allowing the shaft to deliver sustained mechanical output without exceeding thermal limits when the motor is cooled by ambient air inside the machine base. The windings are energized at a carrier frequency of 5 kHz, which affects current ripple and the acoustic noise produced by the stator. The absolute encoder can track position across 2048 revolutions, providing multi-turn position information and fine interpolation for numerical control.
