By converting electrical commands into controlled torque, the motor positions machine elements with high repeatability in industrial automation tasks such as tool spindles or indexing tables.
The motor delivers a continuous mechanical output of 2 kW at its rated speed of 2000 rpm, giving drive programmers a clear torque baseline for contouring and feed operations. When lighter loads are encountered, the rotor can accelerate up to 6,000 rpm, extending the usable speed range for rapid traverse moves. Internal feedback is supplied by an absolute encoder that resolves position at 1,296,000 pulses/rev; the transducer operates from a control rail of DC +12 V ±30% and transmits data through a serial channel. Three conductors form the encoder power cable, while two signal lines and a shield carry differential position data to the drive. Four heavier wires in the motor cable conduct phase current to the stator windings. The unit’s straight shaft simplifies direct connection to pulleys or couplings, and the encoder draws no more than 1 W during operation, minimizing thermal rise.
