Okuma Corporation’s BL-H201E-12S is a well-constructed AC motor designed under the BL servo motor series. With its keyed output shaft, this motor is suitable for form-fitting applications, maximizing torque transfer and throughput during operation. Because of its keyed shaft, the motor has a key speed, which is slightly lower than its rated speed. Like other BL servomotors by Okuma, the BL-H201E-12S is characterized by its high power output and torque but relatively low driving speed. During operation, this device can maintain a rated shaft velocity of 1200 rpm. At this rated speed, the motor can safely achieve its maximum torque and peak current. For other applications requiring a higher driving speed, the motor’s terminal voltage must be increased.

The BL-H201E-12S employs a terminal box for housing the motor encoder and power cables during operation. As an AC machine, this servomotor features three wires for its power connection. Typically, servomotors are connected to the terminal ports of a compatible servo drive or amplifier. The servo encoder, on the other hand, is connected to the servo drive’s CN or peripheral port. Along with a compatible Okuma servo drive or amplifier, the BL-H201E-12S establishes a closed-loop control system. In this control system, the motor encoder provides the feedback signal. The drive, on the other hand, serves as the controller for most applications.

The BL-H201E-12S is also characterized by its sturdy chassis. With its screw-in mounting holes, this servomotor supports flange mounting. Theoretically, BL servomotors by Okuma support both horizontal and vertical mounting orientations. Regardless of the mounting orientation, however, adequate ventilation space must be considered during the installation process. Although the BL-H201E-12S does not come with surface fans, with adequate ventilation space, the motor can dissipate heat efficiently via convection.
