Product Description:

The SV3450-11100 is an AC flux-vector drive manufactured by Kollmorgen in the SV3000 Flux Vector Drives series. Installed between the mains supply and a three-phase motor, the unit modulates voltage and frequency so automated equipment can accelerate, decelerate, and hold speed precisely under varying loads. By combining high-bandwidth current loops with vector algorithms, the drive supports closed-loop torque regulation demanded in conveyors, extruders, and coordinated axis systems.

To interface with plant power, the drive accepts a nominal line of 460 VAC on a three-phase supply and draws 62.2 A at rated load. Internally it converts this to deliver a continuous output of 65 A RMS, corresponding to a drive capacity of 50 HP or 51.8 kVA. The inverter can sweep frequency from zero up to 120 Hz, and the control loop trims motor speed with 0.01% digital resolution while holding commanded velocity within 0.01% of base speed. Electrical efficiency is aided by an input power factor of 0.92, limiting reactive current and easing transformer sizing. Ambient operation is specified up to 40 °C without derating, and heat generated during normal switching is removed through a finned heat sink and forced-air paths.

During rapid acceleration or process upsets, the inverter can supply a peak current of 97.5 A RMS, and its power stage tolerates a load surge of 150 % for 60 s before faulting. When the carrier frequency is set to 6 kHz, switching devices dissipate 1012 W, so suitable panel ventilation is required because the maximum ambient remains limited to 40 °C. Installation is permitted up to 3300 ft above sea level, after which current and voltage must be derated to offset reduced cooling-air density and lower heat removal at higher elevations.
