Product Description:
The SV3440-01000 is a flux vector AC drive engineered by Kollmorgen within the SV3000 Flux Vector Drives series. The unit regulates three-phase induction motors in conveyors, mixers, and other automated machinery that require high starting torque and precise speed control. Operating from a three-phase supply, it modulates output frequency and current to provide closed-loop vector regulation that replaces mechanical gear changes and supports networked control architectures in factory environments.
Its continuous shaft power capability is 40 HP, allowing it to run medium-sized process motors without derating. The housing carries a NEMA 12 classification, so the electronics are protected from circulating dust and noncorrosive drips when the cabinet door is closed. For transient load peaks, the inverter has an overload capacity of 150% for 60 seconds, allowing it to absorb acceleration events without triggering a fault. Upstream protection is supplied by a line fuse rated at 70 A, matching common 460 V feeders. The isolated analog monitor output uses 12-bit resolution for internal signal conversion. Its absolute accuracy remains within ±0.5%, and it can supply up to 5 mA to external meters. The form-C fault relay can switch up to 250 VAC at 5 A for alarms or contactor interlocks, while a programmable open-collector transistor can sink 100 mA at up to 50 V for event signaling.
The front keypad presents a 2 × 16-character backlit LCD that shows parameter codes, operating status, and diagnostic text. Drive commands and register data can be exchanged over the integrated RS-485 port across cable runs up to 1,200 m, enabling daisy-chained installations on large production floors. At 3 Hz, the flux vector algorithm can produce 150% starting torque, allowing loaded conveyors or agitators to begin moving smoothly without external soft starters.
