Product Description:
The SV3440-01000 Flux Vector Control Drive is made for precision motor control operations. It belongs to the SV3000 Flux Vector Drives family. Kollmorgen designed module provides consistent performance across different industrial automation environments.
The SV3440-01000 flux vector drive can operate in either a speed regulated or torque regulated mode. It accepts a range of input line frequencies between 48 to 62 Hz which makes it suitable for global applications or environments with unstable line frequencies. It is enclosed in a NEMA 12 rated enclosure which protects it against dust, dirt, oil and dripping non corrosive liquids. It can deliver 150% of its rated power for up to 60 seconds which allows it to handle short bursts of high torque demand. It follows RS485 serial communications which allows the drive to communicate with other industrial equipment via a standard serial communication protocol often using Modbus RTU. It is able to output a voltage signal (0–10 VDC) proportional to motor speed. Its improved pulse width modulation (PWM) design minimizes electrical noise and harmonic distortion, which helps extend motor life, reduce heating and improve overall system efficiency and performance.
The SV3440-01000 flux vector drive is rated for motors up to 40 horsepower (about 30 kW) which makes it suitable for mid size industrial applications. It can vary the output frequency to control motor speed over a wide range—from zero to double the base frequency of most standard motors (60 Hz). It can maintain full torque even at low speeds (down to 1/20th of maximum), without needing a feedback encoder which is a key feature of flux vector drives that enables precise open-loop control for demanding applications like hoists or extruders.
Frequently Asked Questions about SV3440-01000:
Q: Why does the SV3440-01000 use PWM to reduce harmonics and electrical noise?
A: PWM modulation minimizes voltage spikes and smooths motor currents. This extends motor life and ensures energy-efficient, quieter operation in sensitive environments.
Q: How does DC injection braking benefit the SV3440-01000's motor performance?
A: DC braking provides rapid stopping by injecting DC into the stator. It's essential for applications requiring precise and quick halts without mechanical wear.
Q: Can the SV3440-01000 operate in regions with voltage fluctuations?
A: Yes, the drive supports 380–460 VAC input range. This makes it ideal for installations with inconsistent or region-specific voltage supplies.
Q: How does RS485 communication improve integration in the SV3440-01000 Flux Vector Drive?
A: RS485 allows reliable multi-device communication using Modbus RTU. It's suitable for synchronized control and real-time diagnostics in automation systems.
Q: What is the benefit of constant torque over a 20:1 speed range in SV3440-01000?
A: It maintains torque at very low speeds, critical for high-load startups. This ensures precise control in applications like conveyors and extruders.
