Product Description:
The SV3415-00000 is a flux-vector AC drive manufactured by Kollmorgen as a member of the SV3000 Flux Vector Drives series. Designed for chassis or panel installation, the unit converts fixed three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency, closed-loop output that controls squirrel-cage induction motors in automated conveyors, mixers, and material-handling axes. Speed reference signals, current feedback, and internal vector algorithms work together to maintain commanded torque across the speed range, making the drive suitable for start-and-stop duty, precise positioning, and energy-efficient process control in industrial automation.
The drive has a rated mechanical output of 15 HP and an electrical rating of 16.7 kVA. Under nominal conditions, the output stage delivers 21.0 A RMS and tolerates momentary peaks of up to 31.5 A RMS during rapid acceleration. An overload capacity of 150% for 60 seconds supports short periods of increased demand without interrupting operation. Vector control produces a starting torque of 150% at 3 Hz, allowing heavily loaded machines to begin moving without mechanical clutches. Internal dynamic braking supports controlled deceleration, subject to a duty-cycle limit of 5 seconds every 2 minutes. A KTK-30 line fuse isolates the input when fault current exceeds 30 A, helping protect the power stage and connected equipment.
The drive dissipates 440 W of heat during operation. Coordinated internal and external fans remove this heat and maintain component temperatures below the maximum operating temperature of 55 °C. An input power factor of 0.88 helps limit reactive current, which can reduce loading on upstream conductors and transformers in installations containing multiple drives. Internal braking torque is limited to 20% of full load, allowing controlled deceleration without external resistors when operation remains within the permitted braking duty cycle. The chassis-mounted design provides direct access to cooling airflow and allows heat to leave the surrounding cabinet efficiently.
