The SV3405-10000 is a flux-vector AC motor drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied within the SV3000 Flux Vector Drives series. Installed in control cabinets by chassis or panel mounting, the unit converts a fixed-frequency three-phase line into a variable-frequency, closed-loop output that regulates induction motor torque and speed. In automated packaging lines, material-handling conveyors, and pump skids, it acts as the primary motor-control interface, allowing programmable acceleration, deceleration, and dynamic braking without mechanical throttling.
It accepts a three-phase supply at 460 VAC, and its input rectifier maintains a power factor of 0.95, reducing upstream kVA demand. The inverter section is rated for 6.0 kVA of apparent power and delivers a continuous phase current of 7.6 A RMS. For short intervals, current can rise to 11.4 A RMS to satisfy high-inertia starts, matching the 150% starting-torque capability at 3 Hz. Thermal calculations are simplified by a documented heat loss of 150 W, allowing appropriate sizing of cabinet fans or ducts. An internal encoder interface provides position feedback so the vector algorithm can correct slip in real time, while the chassis layout retains front-access serviceability.

The drive can be installed up to 3,300 ft above sea level without derating, so its electrical ratings remain constant in most facilities. A built-in chopper provides 50% braking torque for controlled stops, while line-side demand stays within 10.4 A during rated operation. Chassis or panel mounting hardware and terminals positioned for top entry allow the drive to fit standard control enclosures.
