U16M4 is a Kollmorgen servo motor. It is part of the ServoDisc product line. The motor is designed for applications that require motors with a low profile. The main motor design element that allows this low profile is a flat disc armature. With this type of armature, the motor is smaller and lighter compared to bulky motors that deliver similar output but have an iron core. Additional features of ServoDisc motors include zero cogging, low RFI, long brush life and high torsional stiffness. The motors have low rotor inertia for high acceleration rates and fast response times. Peak torque output of the U16M4 servo motor is 2105 N-cm. The nominal speed rating is 3000 RPM. Maximum speed that the motor can sustain is 6000 RPM. At 25 degrees Celsius its rated continuous torque is 227 N-cm and at 40 degrees Celsius its rated continuous torque is 203 N-cm.
