Product Description:

The 00-01202-071 is an original Kollmorgen product released under the Servodisc product line. Particularly, the 00-01202-071 belongs under the U-series of Servodisc under the model name U12M4. Like other Kollmorgen Sevodisc products, this motor employs an OD round frame and comes with a flat disc armature. With its internal ironless construction, it is possible to achieve zero cogging and deliver extra smooth torque within its operating range. Optionally, motors under the U-series by Kollmorgen can be bought alongside an external tachometer, integral tachometer, optical encoder, or fail-safe brakes. Based on Kollmorgen’s specifications, the 00-01202-071 is compatible with KXA and EM19 amplifiers.

During rated or nameplate operation, the 00-01202-071 can achieve a rated shaft velocity of 3000 rpm. At this shaft velocity, the machine can deliver a nominal output power of 284 watts. Assuming favorable ambient conditions, the compact servodisc has a rated terminal voltage and continuous current of 43.4 V and 8.8 A, respectively. Because of its inherently compact construction and brushless design, the 00-01202-071 has a low moment of inertia, static friction torque, and weight. Kollmorgen’s documentation for U12M4 servodisc identifies a rotor of inertia of 0.0190 oz-in-sec^2. The 00-01202-071 weighs only about eight pounds and achieves a static friction torque of 5.5 oz-in.

Depending on the operating conditions of the 00-01202-071, the thermal resistance of the product may vary. Specifically at the rated speed, the unit has a thermal resistance of 1.27 degrees Celsius per watt. On the other hand, at stall conditions, the unit has a higher thermal resistance of 1.9 degrees Celsius per watt. For ServoDisc motors, the thermal resistance is a quantity that describes the capability of the motor to dissipate heat to its environment.
