The SE2135 DC motor controller is produced by Kollmorgen and belongs to the SE2000 DC Motor Controllers series. It is a panel-mount device that modulates armature and field voltages so that direct-current machines can perform precise speed and torque tasks in automated conveyor lines, packaging stations, and material-handling cells. The controller interfaces between the utility mains and the motor, delivering adjustable output while protecting the machine from line disturbances. It forms part of closed-loop systems where motor speed must remain stable despite load fluctuations.
The drive accepts a supply of 230 VAC on a single-phase feeder, allowing installation where three-phase power is not available. Its internal regulator supports a wide mechanical span of 30:1, enabling slow indexing as well as full-speed processing without mode changes. For transient conditions such as startup or cutter engagement, the power stage tolerates 150% for 1 minute of rated current. Armature voltage is held within ±2%, limiting speed drift when input voltage sags or the load shifts. The unit is intended for continuous duty, and its steel housing measures 9.50 inches in width and uses 0.218-inch mounting holes for panel installation.
Speed precision improves further with tach feedback, and closed-loop regulation keeps deviation within ±0.5% over the full operating envelope. Protection for the electronics and local operator controls is provided by a NEMA 4/12 enclosure, so the controller can run in areas exposed to airborne dust or washdown spray. The cabinet stands 13.00 in high, a size that fits common control boxes while allowing adequate airflow around heat-dissipating components. Full performance is maintained up to 3300 ft (1000 m) above sea level, covering most plant elevations without derating.
