Product Description:
The SC1E06250 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen within the SC Servostar Servo Drives series. This compact amplifier conditions mains power and motion commands to supply regulated current to brushless servo motors used in automated assembly cells, packaging lines, and similar equipment. By processing encoder feedback and coordinating with a motion controller, the unit maintains precise velocity and position loops while protecting the motor from overcurrent and loss of synchronization. Its design supports both single-axis and multi-axis systems where cabinet space and simple wiring are important.
Continuous motor current is limited to 6 A, allowing the drive to pair with medium-frame actuators without overheating the output stage. Control electronics are powered from a separate 24 VDC logic supply, so the command interface remains live during main power interruptions. Encoder feedback is accepted through a differential channel to close the position loop. The unit stands 256.0 mm (10.08 in) tall, a dimension to verify when arranging multiple drives in a narrow enclosure. Flexibility on the mains side is provided by support for single-phase input as well as three-phase input, allowing the installation to match available power and wiring arrangements. Power and ground wiring terminate on an M3.5 screw terminal.
The drive must be installed vertically to maintain proper cooling. The housing is 163.0 mm (6.42 in) wide and weighs 5.20 lb (2.36 kg), so a standard DIN rail or panel plate can support the load without reinforcement. Drive brackets accept 10-32 (M4) hardware that must be tightened to a mounting torque of 20 lb-in (2.26 Nm). The power and protective earth clamp should be secured to 12 lb-in (1.35 Nm) to maintain reliable electrical connections. Kollmorgen recommends 0.5 inches of side clearance and 2.5 inches of clearance above and below the heat sink to maintain airflow around the vertically mounted chassis.
