Product Description

Kollmorgen’s automation products are highly rated by professionals and innovators around the world. The company’s products find their application in top industries including aeronautical and defense, food and beverage processing, and printing.

The S31061-518 digital servo amplifier is compatible with both a single-phase and three-phase power supply. The device offers many features that greatly assist motion control operations. The S31061-518 comes with a shielding connection and two analog inputs onboard. If a PC interface is to be used to set drive parameters, then it can be accomplished with the help of CANopen. CANopen can also be used for integration with bus-systems. An expansion card slot is provided with the digital amplifier. Depending on the type of functions required, different expansion cards can be used with the amplifier. Typically, ModBus, FIP-IO, and DeviceNet expansion cards can be used. A 110 V to 230 V (50…60 Hz) supply voltage can be used with the system. The system requires a 4 kVA input supply for operating continuously.

The S31061-518 comes with multiple safety features. The amplifier’s temperature is continuously monitored with the help of a thermostat. Furthermore, protection against overvoltage and short-circuit is also provided. The power section’s brake circuit distributes the regenerated power to all the devices connected to the same bus link. By default, an internal brake resistor is provided with the system. An external brake resistor can be used if required. The S31061-518 comes with interference suppression filters on the auxiliary power supply voltage. The system supports complete digital control of current, speed, and position. Lastly, the system’s minimum inductance is 3.7 mH and it produces a peak output current of 20 A.
